Shawn struggles with going to the bathroom when he needs to. Just wants to play and play without breaks. And if he does have little accidents of not making it on time, it's usually when he wants "some privacy" so we can't see that his underwear is a little wet. Well today, I could tell he really needed to go, if he hadn't already started going, so I said, "Shawn, do you need to go potty?"
He said, "No." With the look of total discomfort that he was holding it in.
"Did you already start to go?" I ask somewhat sternly.
"No!" he says, looking down as if to check if I could tell.
"Why don't you go and then we can turn the movie on."
"Oh fine," like he's just being obedient and doesn't really need to go.
Then he starts walking with his legs tightly together like it will come out if he doesn't. And to cover it up he says, "I just want to walk like a penguin." And he continues "walking like a penguin" all the way to the bathroom.
I'm not sure why he would rather hold it until he's in what I can only imagine is pain and discomfort, then take 5 seconds to let it out. Silly guy!
